Wimberley P30 Overview

The Wimberley P30 quick release plate for lenses is made of silky-smooth andonized aluminum, with anti-twist flanges to trace the edges of the lens' tripod collar.  It fits all the Arca-type quick release adapters, which are made by many different companies such as Acratech, Arca-Swiss, Foba, Graf/Studioball, Gitzo, Novoflex, NPC and (of course) Wimberley.

Dual Safety Stops
The safety stops at the front & back of the Wimberley P30 plate prohibit your lens from accidentally slipping out of the quick release adapter(easily removed with supplied hex wrench if desired).
Double-Dovetail Cross-Section
The Wimberley double-dovetail design allows attachment of their Shape Shifter flash bracket system to the upper or lower surface of the P30 plate.
Works with All Common Flash Brackets
Drilled holes accept flash arms from Kirk & Really Right Stuff
Combine with two Module 1 Quick Release Arms(B&H item code "WIM1") for a brilliant support base for using your long lens atop a beanbag

I needed a quick release plate for my cameras, lenses, and gimbal This plate is highly adjustable and although long it gives me better control of where I place my camera and lens.

Not sure. I used it as a lens plate for the Panasonic micro four-thirds 100-400 mm lens. It's excellent for that purpose.

I have a Nikon D7000 and am purchasing a Tamron 150-600mm lens. The specs I've seen indicate that the P30 plate should work on my Wimberly sidekick. Is that the right plate and are there any issues or other items I should consider?

The Wimberley P30 Quick Release Plate is compatible with monopod heads that are Arca-type compatible. A good option is the Oben VH-A30 Tilt Head for Monopods, BH #OBVHA30.

The Wimberley P30 Quick Release Plate is compatible with the Sony FE 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens (Sony E). I feel an Arca Swiss foot is more secure, like the Kirk LP-65 Replacement Lens Foot for Select Sony Lenses, BH #KILP65V2 (https://bhpho.to/48XOBtf).
