Gitzo G-532 reviews

G-532 Lateral Side Arm for Reporter Tripods is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would have expected better from Gitzo When I finally got a hands on look at this, I got to see just how flimsy and weak it was, and good luck if you're just trying to move your camera laterally (as in the name) and shoot more or less normally, as your tripod head attaches at a 90 degree angle from normal. A MUCH better and far more stable choice for a lot less money is the Manfrotto with the two sliding clamps actually on the rail. The Manfrotto is actually rigid and built far better than the Gitzo and it has four mounting points. Needless to say, I did not buy the Gitzo, but did purchase the Manfrotto instead. Glad I did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Video! I use for make ilustrated video. I enable Canon 7D to be positioned above of my Gitzo tripod in a 90 degree position. I have some difficulty cinching the mounting head to my tripod. The lock wheel is located a little too tight to the head, making a good grip challenging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adds flexibility My use - with the column inverted, and make-shift positioning of a hand-held flash in close-ups. What's great - It looks cool. It allows one to position the tripod legs in a different relationship to your body. What's not so great - securing it to the tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong with a Gitzo The side arm is very light and usable. Can't go wrong with a Gitzo.
