Photographers' Formulary 07-2000 overview

  • 1Description

Photographers Formulary Contact Print Frames are made at the Formulary from high quality oak (actual tone may vary), with a felt-lined, hinged back board for print inspection.

Pressure clips hold your negative secure while printing.

All frames are made one inch bigger than the size quoted. (i.e. an 8x10" frame actually has a glass size of 9x11" so that you get a full 8x10" print).

Photographers' Formulary 07-2000 reviews

8x10" Contact Print Frame is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't get frammed For the price, this is a good frame. Better ones are available, but cost a good bit more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected! I am using the frame to contact my 8x10 negatives to make cyanotypes and lumen prints. Frames are well built and strong construction. Plan to buy more! I have used other brands in the past but no more. I am sold on Photographer's Formulary Contact Print Frames!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it. The latches on this contact frame didn't last a month until they started popping out of place and then the frame can't even be used. I need to have the latches replaced. Every time you open and close the latch it is not only diffucult to latch but it's loud.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product This contact print frame is great in almost every way. Although the only downside is not having a full pressure spring for pressure on the print the clips used in this product are no joke. You can tell when clamping them to the frame that they mean business, I have not had issues with any prints so far but I also have been very careful with my print making process. If you don't want to go through the trouble of making your own this is a great alternative.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Might not be best for school use Loved this contact frame when we first got it but over time we have had the pressure clips fail. The clips are firm and require a bit of force to lock into place but we have had 2 actually slip out of their position and come apart. We have put them back into place several times but it keeps slipping out. This frame is being used in a classroom situation, and perhaps this may not occur in a smaller setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy and solid! The hinge in the center is a HUGE plus. The hinge makes it so that you can check your print without losing your register. This also has little rubber feet on it which are helpful when exposing out on asphalt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for I use this contact printing frame to create cyanotypes and other alternative processes. The hinge is very useful for checking the highlights of my print and determining if I need to expose the print longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent quality for the price There are more expensive frames, but at this size the build quality and price are just right. Perhaps when I need a bigger frame I will buy a different brand, but this one is working just fine for now.
