This Ikelite Diffuser will fit their DS50 and DS51 Substrobes, as well as their AF35 strobe. It increases angle of coverage by approximately 10° and softens flash output to reduce backscatter, glare, and hard shadows. The snap-on diffuser reduces brightness by approximately one stop. Two holes allow you to attach an optional lanyard when the diffuser is not in use.

Diffuser Needs better side clips!!!
The diffuser is needed to scatter the light and soften it under water. It does that perfectly. Problem is, it does not stay on the strobe and that is why I purchased another one. I lost the first on its first dive! The new one is no better at staying on. You must use a large rubber band to strap it on and make it stay on then it works perfectly.

Works well while it stays on the strobe
This diffuser is a must with the Ikelite substrobe and works wonderfully while attached. Unfortunately, the manufacturer needs to change the design so that it fits better or has a cord or strap to connect it to the strobe so that it is not lost if it comes loose.

Fills the purpose
I is a good diffuser. I use it in most of my dives with a ikelite substrobe 51s. But with time the attachment will became dry and it will be easy to loose it during deco or commig back to the boat. For this reason I always secure it with a silicone cord.

Cool flash with easy to lose diffuser
I realy like my two AF35 strobes but the diffusers are very easy to loose underwater. You realy need to tie the diffusers to the strobe but when you take them off underwater you need to be carefull so that they don't float in front of the camera.

Doesn't last
This is the second diffuser I have had by Ikelite. Both lasted 2 dives. It doesn't sit tightly into the flash attachment, and when you try to secure it, the tabs will break. Considered trying to affix it with duck tape.

Diffuser for DS50, DS51, or AF35 Strobe by Ikelite
I lost my diffuser while diving in Bimini, this is an exact replacement. It works well and does what it needs to do. The difference is that this time I will tie a piece of monofilament (fishing line) to it so that if it does slip off I will still have it.

Crucial for the substrobes
These work really well to give a nice even light with the substrobes. You get some nasty hotspots without them. Awesome product, only problem is they don't come with a part that attaches to the strobes...have to do it with duct tape or whatnot.
