Ceiling mount clip a bit small

I love this product except for the scissor clip mount. In my opinion, it's small and a little flimsy. I replaced it with a standard scissor clip and I sleep much better at night. :)
NOT 5', ONLY 3 SECTIONS!

Product pictures and description are incorrect. The total length is 49", and there are only 3 sections. Smith-Victor shows the 4 section picture on their site as well, and the part numbers match. Smith-Victor must have changed the product without updating the P/N. Seems like a good product other than that though. Also note that this is for a DROP CEILING FRAME. So if you need to mount it to a normal ceiling you will need another bracket.

question
This mount comes with 2 attachments. One is obviously the scissor mount for use with a drop ceiling, but what is the other accessory for? Here's a photo - it's the item on the left.http://creativeillusions.biz/mount.jpg
From the manufacturer I checked into this and was told that there is a loop on the safety cable that goes over the scissor mount stud. The safety cable is then secured to the stud by the item on the left.

question
Can we use this to mount a camera? Are there any accessories recommended for that?
While the above item is not designed for use with cameras, you may purchase the Novatron Adapter - 3/8 Female to 1/4-20 Male, B&H # NOA38.2520, the Oben 3/8 -16 to 1/4 -20 Reducer Bushing, B&H # OB1039, and the Barska AF12544 Aluminum Ball Head, B&H # BABJTH, for your usage needs to connect a camera to this item.

question
Do you think it could mount a Logitech webcam? (C920 to be exact)
The Smith-Victor Ceiling Mount with 5.0' Telescoping Extension states it includes a 3/8 stud, while the Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam indicates it has a standard female 1/4 -20 tripod thread. The Novatron Adapter - 3/8 Female to 1/4-20 Male, B&H # NOA38.2520, would be the required adapter to connect the Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam to the Smith-Victor Ceiling Mount.

question
Can you please tell me the minimum length for the pole, as well as what accessories i need to mount it or does it come with a clamp as stated?
It is easy to mount. If you take off the X-shape foot you have a 1/4inch thread that you can use to anchor. I purchased a T-Type Wall / Ceiling Mount Adapter that has a screw and it fits perfectly. I used anchors to fasten the mount to the ceiling and I have a fixed location. I also added a closet rail and made a wooden roller with a 1/4 Inch screw to hold the ceiling mount and I use it as a moving support (from the ceiling) for my forward lights. It is GREAT!
