Metz SCA 3502 Reviews

SCA 3502 Dedicated Module for Leica is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The affordable option Much less expensive that Leica's flash with the same compatibility, unfortunately, no TTL but still with great results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable and works great with Leica M7 I use this with my Leica M7, and 45 CL-4 digital handle mount flash as well as the 54 Mz-4i. Both flashes give TTL control capability with the M7. With the 54 MZ 3/4 series flashes, I can also use the command mode to have TTL control of multiple flashes. I use the 40MZ 1/2/3 flashes with the slave adapter SCA 3083 on each of the 40 MZ units to act as TTL slaves. One extra benefit of the 54 MZ 3/4 series with the M7 is the high speed synch (HSS) capability. It's not hard to access: set the flash unit to M manual mode, and set your shutter speed to 1/250 or faster. You'll then be able to perform HSS flash synch. The flash unit allows different power output levels to be set, so that you can adjust your f/stop and focus distance to have the correct exposure in this manual flash mode. As you can see, this SCA 3502 unit is a very versatile controller for the Metz system, for Leica TTL flash capable camera users (M7/ M6 TTL / R8, R9). A final note is that a lot of the capabilities of the flashes with the different Leica cameras (M and R) are outlined in the little manual that comes with the SCA 3502, NOT in the flash manual. I carry this little tiny booklet in the camera case, so that I can figure out things quickly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Still wondering This SCA adapter is better than a generic hot shoe to PC on my Leica Monochrom. Yes, heaven forbid a Leica owner that wants the opportunity to use fill flash. It doesn't do much on the MM: Rear curtain synchronization and a flash ready signal is about all I have been able to successfully prove it will do. If I set the Automatic f stop +2 over my len's aperature, it is spot on. TTL functions have not as yet proven to function at all. If you're trying to get your Leica to speak METZ, this is potential path.
