Sennheiser MZW2-ew reviews

MZW-2EW Steel Mesh Windscreen is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have item This windscreen works suprisingly well. I actually just did a shoot on the beach in Florida (where it's always very windy)and I didn't hear ANY wind noise. Actually, I was kinda shocked. For the most part, it stays on pretty good, but if it does fall off, you'll probably never find it. Get a backup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth it You wouldn't think that this small item is going to make a big difference, but the difference between this and an empty lav mic is a world of difference. Not only does it knock out wind noise but I think its a good idea to use the mesh to protect your mic. In the field many a mics have been dropped in the mud and dirt. These are a lot easier to replace. I recommend keeping a few in your audio kit as they will get knocked off and lost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Works Fits on my sennheiser lav, but would seem to fall off with any rough contact. added a dab of crazy glue fixed that problem. Does a good job of blocking out light breathing on the mic but would consider alternatives on a gusty day. Still expensive for a little piece of plastic but cant find a better one out there. I just hate wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you a have a lavalier buy a mesh. If you a have a lavalier you must have a mesh. Period. Surprisingly cheaper than a generic brand. I wish it would stay on the lavalier so we don't have to buy every time (I guess something for Sennheiser to work on).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't live without 'em... Cant keep track of 'em. When my users remove their lapels, I'm rarely around. I get the mic back, and it's mysteriously gone. Somewhere on the 5000 square feet of dark carpet... Time to order a couple more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves your mic everytime We loose one of these every year in someone's shirt or skirt I am sure. But you can't live without the protection. Sure it saves the front end of the mic from repeated damage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy to get a replacement! We ordered two of these windscreens, one for backup and one to replace our original which we've had for over 10 years. Our original windscreen accidentally feel off and was stepped on and crushed by our talent during a shoot. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to find a replacement! The wind screen does work well on outside shoots with a slight breeze, but direct wind still comes through.
