Heico Perma Wash is a highly concentrated neutral liquid that not only saves a tremendous amount of time and wash water, but even more importantly provides archival permanence in both films and papers.

Perma Wash is available in 1 qt., 1 gal., and 5 gallon concentrates. A one quart bottle will make 11 gallons of working solution.

Perma Wash saves more than 90% of normal wash water requirements which is estimated that the operating cost is one cent per 8 x 10" sheet of film or paper processed.

Perma Wash is non-corrosive and is formaldehyde free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time & Tide Wait For No Man But You! Even when shooting black and white you can go green with Perma Wash from Heico. After all, green means conservation -- so why not save on your water (the tide) bill while saving the planet. Best of all cut your archival washing time -- (the time). So with Perma Wash, time and tide really do wait for you. See what I did there? :)I use 1.5 oz to 64 oz of water, then process 12-16 rolls of 120 before mixing up a new batch. Been using this stuff for the past 10 years or so. No complaints. The only bad thing about perma washes is that there can be a little powdery residue build up by the screw off cap -- so don't open near food -- I open over the sink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful chemical This is a chemical that helps reduce washing time in film and paper. It also goes at an extremely low proportion (like the volume that fits in a water bottle cap for a gallon of water), which means that one bottle will last forever. I don't know about the shelf life, but this must be one of those things that last forever. I recommend it highly. Without it, washing times for film would be 25 minutes. Using this Heico product it's only 5 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great Time Saver for Washing Prints on I've been using Heico Perma Wash for MANY years. I don't think it's necessary for film, or prints on RC paper, which have a short washing time without any wash aide, but it greatly cuts down the otherwise long washing time otherwise needed for prints on fiber-base paper AND helps to ensure that they'll be reasonably archival. My normal work flow is to wash my prints, tone them in KRST and then wash them again. Without Perma Wash, or a similar wash aide, the tie involved would be enormous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from washing everything I'm a beginner and do all this in my basement, away from running water. Perma Wash, if I'm using it right, allows me to wash the paper I'm developing and get it into a clean water rinse while not having to worry about not having a source of running water. I finish my developing, usually about 5-10 prints, and then take the tray upstairs for a thorough rinse, which, if the product does what it says, only takes a minute. For me, it was a fine investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save yourself a lot of wash time I've been using Perma-Wash for decades, and it's saved me many more decades in wash time. This is a must for all film and paper processing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, and enough for a lot of rolls of film. I use Perma Wash to shorten my wash times, save water, and achieve archival results when processing black and white film. The only thing that's not great about the product, and this isn't much of a complaint, is that as you use the solution there's no way to reduce the amount of air left in the bottle for the purpose of helping the remaining contents stay fresh longer. Also, when you open or close the bottle, some of the chemistry forms a powdery residue around the screw top opening -- so one should be careful to open and close over a sink to prevent the powder from landing on food or skin. It's a good idea to wipe the bottle down with a moist paper towel from time to time. I mix 1.5 oz to 64 oz of water. And use to treat 12 rolls of 120 film. I like having fresh solution to make sure the fixer is completely removed from film. It would be great if photo chemistry was less expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect product-Have used since '68 - perfect wash I have used this product to wash my fiber based prints and films since 1968 and no stains have appeared on my prints after all these years, which means they were washed perfectly. I just follow the instructions on the back of the bottle. Its a shorter wash time compared to most, if not all, other washing aids and since this has worked perfectly, why use anything else?
