Photogenic C4-15C overview

  • 1Description

The standard, clear, UV Coated flashtube for the Photogenic PL2 Series monolights.

Most current, professional flash heads and monolights are equipped with user replaceable flashtubes that may simply be plugged into, and unplugged from their sockets. With proper handling, these flashtubes may last for tens of thousands of flashes under normal use.

This flashtube is UV-Coated, or UV-Corrected. UV flashtubes have a yellow appearance, and they counteract the excess blue 5700° or higher output of non-UV coated flashtubes. UV Coating lowers the color temperature to 5500°, which is the color of noon daylight on a clear day.

Photogenic C4-15C reviews

C4-15C Flashtube is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I cannot yet speak of long-lasting or durability for this particular item because lots of usage is required prior to making such a commendation. This bulb is for an older model Photogenic strobe, so I was a little hesitant about purchasing it online and possibly having the hassel of sending it back. However, I found that B&H's product descriptions are so complete you can feel pretty confident that you have the right product and won't have to return things. Cindy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Flash Tube I accidentally melted the plastic cover onto the original tube (which was still fully functional after a few years of moderate use). I will never plug one of my Photogenic monolights in again before replacing the plastic cover with a reflector or softbox. Because the cover is opaque, I couldn't see that the modeling light was on. Back the tube -- consistent light and I have not yet had a flash tube failure on any of my Photogenic monolights

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Photogenic Studio strobes like new My old set of 4 Photogenic 1250DR studio strobes worked ok, but buying new flash tubes and replacing all four at the same time has made my workflow easier and my shooting more consistent always. The color temp out of all the units is consistent between all the lights, and from shot to shot. A little pricey, but definitely worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Color I use this product in my home studio and on location. I have used with softboxes and umbrellas on my Photogenic 1250 powerlight. I love the consistent brightness and color it puts out. It arrived packaged very well and was quite protected. It is a very sturdy lightbulb that has survived a few falls (oops) and is still going strong!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Flashtube but fragile. I use this product for portraiture, on location photography in a set of PL1250's and I love the color temperature of the bulbs with the UV coating, worth the extra couple of bucks but not a huge difference. What I don't like about the tube is how easy they are to crack, seems like any jolt and there goes a $ tube.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Must for High Key This tube is a must for clean whites on a high key background. The non-coated tubes yield to much UV which converts to blueish colors which can be difficult to fix in post.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Use this flashtube in a photogenic powerlight. These do last a long time. I think I am still using some of these flashtubes that are 10 years old.
