Not much you can say about this product. It is what it is. However, I was truly surprised when I got it to find it was actually heavy gauge steel. Twice as strong as it probably needs to be. Really impressed at the thickness of the steel.

Definitely not. These need to be bolted to the wall or ceiling to carry the weight of a roll of seamless paper.

question

recommended pole that can be used with these brackets for 86 paper? I'm considering using a pole rather than the Expan drive set to be able to accommodate both 53 and 86 paper.
Asked by: Jessye H.
These hooks only work with an Expan Drive due to the narrower slot they offer.

How many inches does this extend down from the ceiling (if used as ceiling mount)? I have room to fit rolls of paper between my muslin rolls but only if they extend down no more than 4 inches (where the hook would be).

You can use it on a wall or ceiling assuming its securely mounted.

question

Will this background hook support larger seamless rolls that are 107x150?
Asked by: Miguel W.
Well ; the paper roll you want to hang its no more than 40 pounds ( 20 kilos ) it isn't? ; in my personal experience the Hook will easily support it, if it is properly installed , it's not the resistance of the metal hook, its the way you installed the main issue, I hang a Vinyl background 8' x 20' on it with no problem.

question

The description states these are meant for use with expan drive set and the manfrotto autopole system but I was hoping to ceiling mount a 9' roller using the expand drive set only - is the autopole an essential component to the system?
Asked by: Karen L
You don't need the autopole. I have several hooks mounted to my wall. Make sure you hit a 2x4 in the wall. Drywall will not hold the weight in my experience. Good Luck!

question

Does anyone know the exact width these brackets should be when mounted on the wall. I am using the expand drive set and 107 inch paper rolls. the width between the bracket hooks?
Asked by: LARRY F.
You don't need to be 100% accurate because the non chain side of the drive set gives you about 2 inches of play. Thuis can be seen clearly in its product images. When I mounted it I first set up the drive set on the paper, set the holding part on the non drive side to the middle, and than figured out my measurements. When I put it up I had not gotten it perfect, but the 2 inches of wiggle room made up for it.
