What's the proper way to clean the specs
What's the proper way to clean the specs
If you mean specks seen through the viewer when using the device, the image quality of the object, depends mainly on operating characteristics of this image intensifier. Due to this fact black spots, which are inherent in the image intensifier, may be seen in the field of view of a viewing device. Acceptable defects, which may be seen in the field of viewing device, are given in the table on p.12 of the manual. If you refer to dust on the lens, then clean the lens and eyepiece optical surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with “lens cleaner” obtained from any camera store. Clean the lens surface carefully with circular movements starting from the center.

question
I've owned mine for about ten years hasn't been used in some time. when I press the generator I see a couple of small light flashes and that is all. It is a newcon optic M 2.0x 1st generation night vision monocular. does anyone know what might be wrong?
Might be defective or you might have to replace a part in the device. I would recommend contacting Newcon directly with this inquiry to see if your device needs to be sent in to be serviced. Tel: (416) 663-6963 Email: [email protected]: http://www.newcon-optik.com/

question
Does it take a battery?
No battery needed for the monocular it works on squeeze {piezo} power. One squeeze for about a minute. There is a battery for the flashlight attachment for enhanced viewing.
