- For Long Lenses with Arca-type QR Plates
Wimberley has a system of flash bracket components that are modular, versatile and easily stowed in a small space when not in use. Known as the Shape-Shifter Modular Flash Bracket System, the components connect without tools. None of the combinations slip, twist or creep-even during intense action. They're integrated with the venerable Arca-Swiss type quick release system, now dominant as the industry standard for macro and telephoto shooting.

question
I often use flash plus tripod, is there space o the bottom of this bracket to add a Arca Swiss plate if I am using it with a shorter lens that doesn't have a lens collar? I understand that with a lens collar i could mount the lens to tripod, flash bracket to camera with Arca plate
There are no threaded holes on the bottom of this bracket that will allow this to to be mounted to a tripod.

Is this compatible with a Flex Shooter ball head (manual disconnect), a kirk plate on the shoe of an RF 100-500?
It has not been tested but technically the Wimberley F-1 Telephoto Combo Flash Bracket should work with the Flex Shooter ball head (manual disconnect, Kirk plate on the RF100-500 tripod collar.

question
Hi, I need to get an off camera flash bracket. I have the Wimberley head version II.I shoot a nikon d800 and d300, 300mm 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 24-70. This bracket was recommended to me. Is this the one I should get or is there another, etc.??? And do I need some accessories to make this work with my camera.thanks,Wendy
There are essentially two flash brackets that can be used with the WH-200 Gimbal. This one, the F-1 attaches to the lens plate of the lens. It's probably the most versatile since it can be reconfigured to be used on the Sidekick and Sidemount version heads as well. There is also a F-9 Flash Bracket that attaches directly to the WH-200 so that it stays attached when you switch lenses. To use this on your camera and a shorter non-collared lens, you indeed need the M-8 to attach this to. The M-8 would attach to a camera plate on the bottom of your camera and then the flash bracket would attach to the M-8

question
Compatible with Markins Ring Plate RC-60 or not?.
I do not personally own the ring plate but, since the RC-60 has an Arca-swiss compatible slot, the flash bracket should be compatible with it.

question
can this be used with a ball head?
Yes, but obviously it depends on your setup. If using a big tele like a 600 mm, the foot is probably long enough and with dual slot so you have space to clamp the bracket to the foot of your lens and then the lens to your ball head. This setup is more easy to use with a gimbal, though. With a shorter lens like a 70-200 mm, you either change the foot or buy a rail with a dual slot so you can clamp everything on you ball head or gimbal. Hope this help. Note: the bottom clamp of the bracket is reversible...(claw on top or bottom)

question
Does this work with Benro GH3 gimbal head? If not, then can you suggest any other Wimberley bracket that could work with it?
You should have no issues. The key is the Arca Swiss plate the camera is on. If it is long and double dovetail, you are set. The Benro GH3 work but we are unable to test it. For further information, you can look here. https://bit.ly/2BDJfGU
