My favorite riser column compared to 3 other major brands I've tried except the top riser on this for mine has a curve to it that makes you have to really give it a strong slow tug to get the top-half of the top riser out of the middle riser. I gave the box and column a good look over to determine if it had signs of ever being used before and I couldn't find any. So I have to believe it was manufactured this way which prevents me from buying more of this specific type. I don't plan on using the top riser much so it's still my favorite. I have 8 riser columns total and no others even have slight curves.

I got this for studio pourpuses. It works great, it's well built. I got this because you can chance the column and still use the same 'c' base and takes less space when moving from studio to location.

It really depends what you are attaching the riser to.
It is normally part of the Avenger C stand and that supports up to 22 lbs.
