Steiner 575 overview

  • 1Description

Designed with a moderate magnification and large objectives, the Steiner Optics 7x50 Marine Binocular is an ideal choice for hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and boaters. The power and aperture combination translates to a generous field of view and an impressive exit pupil that helps to mitigate the disorientation common when looking through binoculars on rolling or rough water, or the appearance of the visible hand-shake associated with high-power optics. Its traditional Porro prism optical path provides a rich depth of field to clearly see the difference between near and distant objects, while a proprietary floating prism system absorbs the force from drops or knocks to protect the prisms and their alignment.

For ease-of-use the Marine is outfitted with Steiner's Sports-Auto-Focus system that enables each eyepiece to be individually focused to ensure the sharpest views possible. The chassis is made of Makrolon polycarbonate which is corrosion, impact and temperature-resistant, and the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be water and fogproof even in extreme weather conditions. Whether in the wild outdoors or on the rolling seas, the Marine binocular will be your constant companion for all your glassing needs.

    Steiner 575 reviews

7x50 Marine Binocular is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spectacular performance for the price Bought these as stationary binoculars to keep in the boat. I am amazed by the value for money. The sports autofocus system works great for me. Quick to adjust, only needs re-adjusting if going from nearly all time close-up viewing to nearly all time distant viewing. Otherwise your eyes do the adjusting themselves. The picture is crystal clear and the light througput amazing. The front lens caps are tight fitting and attached to the binoculars, great. The rear lens caps are actually one lens cap. Loose, non waterproof fit and attached to neck strap. Which for its own part is useless. Too slim and no padding. It can easily be replaced though. All in all I am very satisfied with the value for money on these binoculars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what's needed I bought these specifically to find the marks when cruising on my 58' Hatteras, the 30 year old one without autopilot. They give me the confidence to sit back and relax while I'm piloting. I can find the marks well in advance and be certain of exactly where they are located. I have had other brands of marine binoculars that were not as good. I had another pair of Steiners, which I loved, and which is why I bought these. But this pair exactly suits my current avocation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Much Bigger than I Thought. The 7X50 Marines are great. Bright clear optics that I use exclusively at night time. The size makes them comfortable to hold. Though smaller hands would not experience any sort of discomfort. Focusing at the eye pieces individually is a new to me and takes some getting use to. I had at first believe the focus was the diopter adjustment and sports focus was set for the device. They do not (or did not) include any sort of warranty or card. one star off for that. The performance is fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good working water binoculars The Binoculars are waterproof and not so expensive that if they get knocked around or thrown overboard they would be expensive to replace. The view is very good in the middle portion of the field, a little soft on the outer edges, but hey for $200 dollars they are great. They have very good eye-relief for people with prescription glasses or simply do not want to take off their sunglasses. I would recommend them to any boater, but do buy a floating harness in case they get thrown overboard. Great for whale watching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I Knew It Would Be! This is my third pair of Steiner binoculars and they are spectacular. The low light performance is absolutely fantastic! Even though my boating days are about over, in my humble opinion, these are the best all around 7x50 binocular on the market for anywhere near the price. They are every bit as good as my Steiner Commanders that I had in my serious boating days! Read the other reviews on-line and you will see that everyone else agrees. AND, you just cant beat B&H for fast, courteous service before, during and after the sale! B&H

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent binos.. great price! Received my Steiner 7x50s within a couple days of placing the order in excellent condition. For some reason I also received a pair of Smith shooting glasses. This was a very pleasant surprise and after a quick check of the website I discovered B&H had some type of promotional. Very Cool. Can't have too many sun glasses. Keep them in my truck. I needed a good pair of binoculars for everyday use that could take a little abuse and weather. I had been issued this very model for work a couple years back and was sad to have to turn them in. I already knew of the excellent light transmission qualities (especially in low light) and their rugged construction. I am not a stranger to Steiner binoculars having owned a pair of pocket model 8x20s for over 10 years now. When I compared the image quality at distance with my 30 year old Zeiss 10x40s I could discern an almost imperceptible amount of distortion at the image edges of the Steiner's. However, night viewing was where the Steiner's excelled. The extra 10 millimeters of diameter at the objective end gave me added clarity I needed at dawn and dusk. And you can't compare the two as far as price goes. Overall, the Steiner's are a great set of glass, especially for the price. I'll be passing them on to my kids for sure. Five Stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a Binocular pro but these are nice! I use these on our boat and to look at the night sky. I have never owned good binoculars but compared to other el cheapo's I've used these are very nice. Images are bright, clear, and the sports focus works very well. I like the fact once set I don't have to refocus. They appear very well built and I expect them to last a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Steiner 7x50 Marine Binoculars at a great price. I purchased these binoculars on sale in December of 2016 before Christmas. I did a lot of research for this style of 7x50 binocular. The Steiner binoculars have a great (FOV), field of view. I wear eye glasses and these work well for me. My favorite feature is the auto focus system. Just focus both eyepieces one time and you are set to go. The binoculars are good quality, well built and will last a long time. I would recommend these binoculars.
