The C-valve from Samson is a low voltage tube preamplifier for microphones, instruments or line level signals and outputs a pure signal and silky sound. It features variable gain and variable tube process saturation for adding harmonics.
A peak limiter helps prevent clipping in downstream equipment and a preset EQ enhancement circuit provides a "high frequency" lift. Phantom power is provided for use with condenser microphones and a phase switch allows for changing the phase of the unit's output.
A digital output provides direct connectivity with stand-alone or computer hard disc recorders and two preamps can have their outputs linked through one of the unit's S/PDIF output. A large analog VU output meter and a six-segment LED input meter make it easy to adjust the gain. Insert points are also available.
