    SeaLife Moisture Muncher reviews

Moisture Muncher Desiccant 1.5 Gram - (10-Pack) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use Munchers for several things... I use Moisture Muncher for more than just keeping my camera dry. I live in a warm and humid area that can destroy my family treasures. I put them in my safe that stores my old pictures, negatives and other important papers that could be affected by moisture. I also leave them in my gun cabinet to keep my guns and knives from rusting. In my expensive electrical meter cases and testing equipment, I put a Muncher to keep moisture from affecting calibration and to eliminate corrosion in my electronic component parts. In general, Moisture Munchers have saved me a lot of money in repairs and preserving my family history artifacts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more saving other's capsules I use to have to save capsules from medicine/vitamin/etc. bottles and from received shipping packages to place in my camera and computer bags, but since those do not indicate when they are no longer actively absorbing moisture, you never know when you need to discard and replace them. Now there is no more need for salvage hunts to find moisture eaters and no more guessing when to replace. Sealife's Moisture Muncher Desiccants solve both problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely necessity We put a Hero cam in its waterproof box, attached it to a glider, and sent it up with the pilot. It was mounted outside the aircraft. Apparently somewhere around 1,000 feet, not long after takeoff, the inside of the waterproof box fogged up. We missed the entire flight we had paid for. It's a very tight case and it is difficult to fit in, but these moisture packs do fit most of the waterproof cases. Buy a limited quantity first to see if they fit. In not, just keep them in your camera bag to protect the equipment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for removing humidity I've ordered this multiple times from B&H to protect my camera gear from humidity. The only downside is that it is a one-time use; but it's cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well and can be reused multiple times! I use these desiccant capsules with a Sealife housing which has a built-in holder designed for this product. I only had two capsules for a 10 day/31 dive live-aboard trip so needless to say, I needed a recharging method. I used an old vitamin bottle to hold some Damp Check (calcium chloride) granules. At the end of the day, I would drop thedesiccantcapsule in the bottle and next day it was nearly deep blue (changes from blue to a clear-pinkish color when depleted). Since I had two capsules, there was always one in the bottle for 24 hrs. This system worked reasonably well however if I had more capsules, it would work even better hence this purchase. Another recharging method would be to use one of those coffee cup warmers designed for your office desk or the hotel rooms' coffee maker hot plate. Just protect the plastic casing from direct heat. Be advised, these capsules are fairly large (41 mm long, 7 mm diameter) - they would not fit in a housing with limited space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good life Used this product in the WP-DC28 Canon Waterproof Housing on about 18 dives. I found the moisture munchers lasted about 3-4 dives and I was probably throwing them out too soon. I would discard when they turned purple not pink.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very small This product is very small and excellent for what it was intended, but I needed something a little larger for camera cases. I will order the larger packets made by this company, though, because they do work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK I'm using this for my Canon S95 Waterproof case. It works but kind of pricey for what it is (my opinion).
