Lightware Rolling Stand Bag Reviews

Perfect replacement for a less than perfect product

I bought this to replace another roller bag that was larger. The previous bag felt heavier and was less stable because it only had two wheels. This bag, despite holding the same amount of gear, balances better somehow, the handle feels stable and comfortable, and the 4 wheels feel very secure, stable, and glide beautifully. The large side pockets were great for me to pack some clothes and stingers. The main compartment held my two smallrig tripods and travel tripod with some spare space if I needed to add a light stand or jam some cables in there. The zippers are strong and I feel confident in them. I've gone from feeling like it's a workout to bring my support gear to feeling free to bring what I need without worry.

Very Solid Build Yet Light

I needed to get a smaller location bag that would hold a couple of small Digital Bee heads and a couple of compact light stands. This serves that need. Love it.

question

Can this survive an airport check in?
Asked by: Mark
Having traveled thousands of air miles with camera gear, I can only say that checking bags for said gear is a risk you do not want to take. I recommend a hard case for all your checked gear.

question

Do the interior dimensions given also include the long side pockets?
Asked by: Kit
I would guesstimate that the exterior side pockets are about the same as the interior and about 36-38 long.

question

I understand the dimensions seem to imply that the RC1048 can fit a C-stand, but does the compartment give ample room for the broken down turtle base? Thanks, JVL
Asked by: Anonymous
This case would have room for a broken down c-stand turtle base.

question

Could this be used to store lights as well as light stands? The largest thing I'd wanna put in there is a tweenie.
Asked by: Mathieu C.
This is a really great case. I have back ground stand, light stands, cables and some Elinchrom ELB units. If you have bigger lights I would pad them.

question

Would a 39in tripod fit inside or does the 38in specification leave no wiggle room? Thanks!
Asked by: William
39 inches will fit. Measuring mine with a tape measure, it has 39.5 inches of interior length. While the bottom (The end with the wheels) has a firm wall to it, the top (handle end) has some give to it. There's probably enough give in the fabric to accommodate 40 inches, but 39 will fit pretty much exactly, with no stretching.

question

How many stands fit comfortably in the bag? I use fairly standard 13' Paul Buff stands and would to pack 4 of them.
Asked by: Frank
Hi, Frank, I have 3 light stands in there with 4 collapsible modifiers - it all fits and probably has room for more if I packed tighter. The side pockets also are roomy and I've not fully filled them.
