Smith-Victor MB500 1-Light Mini Boom Kit Reviews

Great value!

Great deal for a very effective starter boom light. However, the kit was missing instructions, which made for a brief and amusing little puzzle. And those who have commented on the cord being too short are right. I would add that the lamp desperately needs an inline cord switch. Although I’m not a pro photog, I don’t think the plastic adjustment handles would stand up to the rigors of constant use. Still, a great buy; would absolutely recommend.

Love the product but it was delivered with a crushed light bulb & dented shade & paint chipped off of the weight portion of the boom. ?

question

Can this take a compact flourescent bulb?
Asked by: Gregg M.
I had to purchase a socket extender (1.5 E26 TO E26) because the bulbs I wanted to use (B&H # EIFS27 and B&H # EISP42) are too wide (right after the metallic mount) for the shape of the reflector.
