Does this keep the two inputs in separate stereo channels or combine them to mono? I want to keep one input Left and the other on Right.
The Hosa Technology XLR Male to 2 XLR Female Y-Cable does not provide separation of left and right signals. This cable sums two independent 3-pin XLR signals down to one mono output signal connection.

What about 48volt phantom power? Do the mics still get enough juice?
The Hosa Technology YXM-101.5 XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Audio Y-Cable is not designed to split signals from microphones directly and therefore may not provide adequate power to a microphone requiring 48 volts.

can I use this to feed two mics into one audio channel on my Panasonic video camera?
Im afraid not. Using a Y cable will combine the 2 mics together. Not mix them together. If one mic is louder than the other there is no way you can control the level. In addition you also run a great risk of phase cancellation and inter-modulation distortion. You will need a Beachtek if the mics you are using are dynamic or battery powered you can us this on B&H # BEDXA2Te. If you need phantom power for condenser mics you will need this one B&H # BEDXASLRULTR.

Would like to run two identical mics - AT875 - straight into a single input of a Canon c100. Will this work?
I ran two AKG perception 170 condensers through a Y-cable into a single input on a board with 48v of phantom and they worked fine.
