Ultratelephoto photography is easily achieved with your telescope by purchasing this T-mount adapter, along with the SLR camera adapter which works with your telescope.  You'll need to take precautions to minimize vibrations, such as locking up the mirror if possible as well as using a cable release or remote control to fire the shutter.

First, remove the eyepiece.  Next, attach the SLR camera adapter where the eyepiece would normally be attached to the telescope, and screw in this t-mount adapter to the opposite end of the SLR camera adapter.  Now you can attach your camera to the t-mount and you are ready to begin taking pictures!

Note: Your camera will need to be in fully manual exposure mode, although some brands of camera may also work in aperture-priority autoexposure mode.  Additionally, if there is a switch on the camera which chooses the focus mode, that switch must indicate manual focusing.

T-Mount SLR Camera Adapter for Canon EOS is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made but confusing Semipro, new to astrophotography. No documentation included, which would have been helpful. The product is well made and works as intended... however the T mount quickly fell out of adjustment -- three set screws that attach the mounting ring to the threaded bezel came loose, which meant my camera would not stay level. Easily fixed (re-tighten the screws), but not before I had spun the camera around several times attempting to fix, and in the process causing the set screws to gouge out a nasty groove in the mounting ring. The resulting tiny flecks of aluminum and paint were definitely not welcome inside my camera. Simple diagram showing these screws would have been helpful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fit is not precise on camera side This product may be acceptable for casual use, but if you value quality, look for a better product. When attached to my Canon 5D III this T-Mount will allow rotation of 1 to 2 mm. For my intended use, attaching a camera to a telescope for astrophotography, this is unacceptable. I can highly recommend the Kowa T-Mount, also available from B&H. When attached to the camera the Kowa does not rotate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This worked better than ever expected. I'm using this adapter to attach my Discover telescope to my 60D Canon camera. I was amazed how easy it was to put everything together. All I need to do is learn how to take great photo's at long distance with the system.
