Jobo J1540 Overview

The Jobo Four-Reel Film Tank No.1540 is part of the Jobo 1500 series tanks. These tanks are modular, meaning that you can add an extension piece to one of the base tanks to develop higher quantities of film.

This tank holds up to 975ml of liquid. This tank is to develop four reels of 35mm film or two 120/220 reel.

Develop your color or black and white roll film and sheet film with one system. The formats supported are 35mm, 120, 127, 220.

I have used this system for over 25 yrs. A trick I use for easier loading is to lightly heat reel with blow drier for about 30-45 seconds. Don’t melt it. Alternate with cool air. You just want to raise its temp a bit for easier film loading

I bought this for the 35mm stainless reels available. They are fantastic. I later ended up using the plastic reels to double up 120 film which is so much more convenient than one-strip-per-reel of Patterson. The double strip method can be tricky to load, but it's so nice to have 4 rolls done at once.

Where can you purchase the center column for the reels to use with this tank?

According to the manufacturer, every new Jobo tank comes with a core, as does the Jobo Four Reel Tank for 35mm and 120/220 Film listed above. If you need a spare core, the MFR SKU number for the cores would be 04043 + 04045. Unfortunately, we do not carry the cores by themselves, but you may be able to e-mail [email protected] to see if you may purchase the cores separately.
