Chimera Video Pro Plus One Overview

The Chimera Large Video Pro Plus 1 is designed for use with an HMI or hotlight but may also be used with flash. With fabric intended for the heat of a continuous light, the Large Video Pro Plus 1 with silver interior is ideal for work where maximum softening of the light is desired.

The "Plus" designation of this softbox means the front face of the softbox is removable. Chimera makes different strengths of diffusion material for front face applications. This softbox comes with 1 diffuser front. Optional 1/4 and 1/2 diffusion screens will allow more light transmission and help to make the light more specular, or "less soft."

This softbox also has a built in "lip" around the edges to help control light spill. This lip also facilitates the attachment of optional honeycomb grids, fabric grids, and louvers.

Ideal for full length shots of adults, providing a wrap-around effect of light.
Recessed front helps to control light spill and facilitates the attachment of an optional fabric grid.
This softbox utilizes a split-pole design for ease of storage and transport.
May be used with HMI or hot lights up to 1200 Watts
Can be used with strobes of any w/s rating.

Bought this to replace a small Chimera that had yellowed after a couple decades of use with hot lights. It's riding on an Aputure 600 X pro now. Beautiful light through the Chimera, great spill control.

I attach the product on one of my 300 watt Arri lights. I was impressed with the soft box bought after i purchased my Arri light kit, when it came with one Chimera Soft Box...when I realized how great it worked with my lighting, I bought a second one! Perfect for Full HD videotaping, It softens the hard light that comes with fresnel lights. It also gives me an opportunity to use strong lights, like my 300 watt, in closer interviewer situations. Also its very impressive to have matching soft box because it gives you professional looking production and you capture film-like closeups like a pro!

Between the Video Pro Plus 1 and Video Pro Plus, which softbox creates the softest light? We are using Nanlite 720B spotlights

There is a difference in the included clothes, otherwise both products light output is very similar. The Chimera Medium Video Pro Plus 1 Softbox 36x48" (90 x 120cm) comes with 1 f-stop Front diffusion cloth with Touch Fastener. The Chimera Video Pro Plus Softbox (Medium, 36 x 48") comes with Front Diffusion Cloth (1 Stop), Grid Cloth (1/2 Stop), Grid Cloth (1/4 Stop).

The OVERVIEW section says This softbox comes with a 1 stop diffuser, a 1/2 and 1/4 grid cloth. The IN THE BOX section says it only comes with a 1-stop. Which is true? I believe the latter is true, but would love some help.
