Yamaha PKBS1 Reviews
Flimsy and poor quality control
I was looking for a budget-minded keyboard stand that still maintained some semblance of quality, and so when I found this offering from Yamaha, I was looking forward to giving it a try. I am frankly surprised and disappointed Yamaha put their name on this stand. The metal is flimsy. The instructions for how it is assembled are not totally clear (I know, hard to believe, but true) and could benefit from putting stickers on parts that should be joined together - think Ikea. You have to be there, folks. Also, the small lobes that keep the keyboard from falling off the back of the stand were installed at a 45 degree angle, which means they barely had any effect to protect the instrument on the stand. No problem, I would simply rotate them to where they needed to be - perpendicular to the floor. No such luck. Try as I may I could not get either lobe to budge. I had to resort to using a rubber mallet to pound them into place and even then, I had so smack it repeatedly to shift. If I had it to over again, I would spend the extra 20 bucks on something more solid. This one disappointed, especially as it is a Yamaha product and I do not look forward to actually using the thing.
Did not fall over when I put keyboard on it.
Of course not. It is extremely well made as would be expected if made to Yamaha specs.
