Can the SH-705E head be removed & replaced with a ball head, etc.?
Asked by: Bill
Yes you can remove the head from Slik Pro 400 DX Tripod with SH-705E 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head and add a different one. The main thing to look for is a head that has a 1/4" screw opening in the bottom. Most are 3/8" and with those you will need this bushing adapter to fit it them. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/769749-REG/Oben_OB_1039_3_8_16_to_1_4_20_Reducer.html

question

can you use a spigot with the 400dx?
Asked by: Anonymous
I believe you are referring to the use of a stud on the tripod like this, http://bhpho.to/1EnkohZ.If that is correct it will work. But a thread which the heads quick release has is not much to grab on to and I do not recommend it.
