Kinetronics KSSW030 reviews

Model 30 Plastic Handle StaticWisk Brush - 1.25" Wide is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite dust prevention tool! I use this little guy to get the dust off negatives when printing in the darkroom or scanning at home. I also use it to brush the glass of the scanner between scans. It's compact and comes with a nice case for throwing in my bag between home/darkroom/wherever. An old friend gave me a very old brush that worked well, but when I lost it, I bought this. I was surprised how much better the new one use! Really try to avoid your skin with it to prolong the life. Combine this with a microfiber, antistatic towel and you'll cut down your dust problems quite a bit without having to use wasteful, annoying, and expensive canned air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Trick I use this exclusively for cleaning 35mm slides before scanning. I have an Epson V700 so once the slides are locked into the carrier, I hold it up against a strong light source, hit both sides of each image with the brush, then follow up with the big Giotto Rocket or sometimes canned air if it needs it. It saves a ton of cleanup time in Lightroom and Photoshop. When using this brush, I suggest you don't press too hard. Just use the tips of the bristles, very gently, up and down, back and forth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for film cleaning I do lots of scanning, and this little brush is perfect to run over strips of film before putting them in the scanner. Does a nice job picking up specks of dust. Haven't seen any evidence of scratching of the emulsion. The design of the handle seems a little strange at first, but is actually quite effective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets rid of Dust I bought this brush to remove dust from negatives prior to scanning. Instead of just pushing the dust around, it actually seems to 'undo' the static charge that holds it to the surface. That's exactly what it's supposed to do. It does a good job with lenses and SLR mirrors, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a brush! There isn't much to say here, and that is probably good. It's well made and very brushlike. It interfaces with the hand natively - no pesky drivers or operating system requirements. It turns dusty negatives into less dusty negatives. It doesn't have undo dusting functionality, so make sure you really want to remove the dust from your negative before committing to the operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Works almost as well as Staticmaster. Just takes a little more effort, but at a much lower price. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly Useful I use this primarily to brush dust off the exterior surfaces of camera bodies and lenses, a role in which this brush excels. It is a handy size that you can easily carry with your equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well in a moderately humid environment I use the brush to remove the last few specs of settled lint before inserting the negative tray into the scanner. Much more thorough than blowing. I have not noticed any scratches.
