Yes, it is a perfect replacement for the one that Canon sent with your camera. I have the Canon EOS Rebel T6i DSLR Camera and it fits perfectly. This eyecup is an original Canon product, not a cheap knock-off imitation.

There is no trick to keep it on. It does happen some times and that is with many other brands. Make sure as what happens to me is, it comes off when I pull my camera out of a bag. So keep on eye on it if.
