Is there any reason I couldn't, or shouldn't, attach a full size ballhead to this? The ballhead is a Benro B2. All of the camera/lens combinations I plan to use with the tripod are under 5 pounds. Thanks.
The OctoPad uses a standard 1/4-20 male bolt and (with their included ball head removed) can be fitted with most photographic ballheads from other manufacturers with excellent results. This includes the Benro B2

Can this thing REALLY weigh just 1.76 oz?
Yes. And has a medium format load capacity rating. I guessing that's around 10lbs.
