Manfrotto 449SP2 Overview

The Retractable Rubber Spiked Feet for Select Monopods from Manfrotto are a set of 3 reversible feet designed for use with the 676B, 694, 3449, & 559B Monopods.

The foot is constructed of a technopolymer base that attaches, via an included tool, to the bottom of your monopod's smallest section. Once attached, the base holds a reversible, corrosion-resistant aluminum spike which features a retractable rubber "cup" style foot. This dual design allows the user to quickly choose the spiked foot for dirt, sand, ice, and snow or the rubber foot for finished surfaces and use indoors.

Sturdy replacement for lost rubber foot

I bought this one as a replacement for a lost rubber foot that was nowhere to be found (B&H, @you name them). This foot is very sturdy and thanks to the tightening screw is very well attached to the monopod - much better than the original slide on rubber foot. The retractable spike is great for changing surfaces. The rubber part collects some mud when placed in soft ground which could have been avoided by a tighter fit of the rubber part around the spike - but that's a picky lazy guy speaking here:) A minor downside: it adds some weight to the magfiber monopod and airlines might consider it dangerous due to the spike.

Can adjust retractable spiked foot for sensitive floors such as vinyl, or extend the spike for slippery rocks.

question

What diameter does this fit?

Based on info at Manfrotto Spares the lower leg for the 449, 676B, and 694 is 16mm, but is not fully round. There's a flat spot on one side of the leg.
