Gepe PVC Pro Reviews
Cheaply Made for an Expensive Price!
I'm not so happy with this cable release. The first time I used it the threads broke and the cable release dropped to the ground. Fortunately it was only the very end so it does still function. I might look for a different brand next time.
Perfect for Leica M cameras
Excellent for Leica M11 tripod work. In the middle of some night photography, an older cloth cable release became non functional with the camera, the fabric must have stretched so that the piston was no longer extending far enough to trip the shutter. So I ordered this release and it performs wonderfully. The piston extends a full inch so it triggers the M11. I hope it will be durable. Seems very well made. One reviewer inaccurately said this model of cable release does not have an exposure lock. They just didn't know how to use it, as it is built in. The Gepe PVC Pro Cable Release has the kind of exposure lock where you have to unscrew the silver collar by the finger rests to set it up to use. You can then do manual time exposures. Press the plunger to start the capture, time it, then press the silver collar to close the shutter. You can screw down the exposure lock when you're done using it, or if you are doing camera-timed exposures, keep it screwed in.
