Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right tool for the job The Paterson thermometer is made in England, not China. It covers a limited temperature range (suitable for B/W but not processes that run at 100 F/38 C) and as such is readable to 0.2 deg F. I use it to correct my dial thermometer which was 1 deg F off as delivered from the vendor. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for b/w and calibrating An accurate, fast thermometer with a limited range - if you're processing color this one isn't for you. I use this to calibrate my dial thermometer since it's a bit fragile for daily use - it's a replacement for a Kodak thermometer that I broke. It comes in a plastic tube.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good thermometer for the price. I do my own darkroom work in silver and platinum, the Peterson thermometer does the job I want it to do in monitoring temps. The price is great. Numbers are a little hard to read for old guy like me, but can be seen once you get used to it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Low tech can be good tech Purchased to replace a broken glass Kodak Deluxe thermometer. The Paterson is very accurate, its range is ideal for black and white film developing however the numbers are a bit small to read. I love this kind of thermometer as I don't have to plug it in or buy tiny batteries for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best ever and most accurate Use it for tank and tray. Why? Because it is dead accurate and easy to use. In trays it rest easy in the little markings that the Patterson trays have. Next to accurate it is fast.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No I would not buy this product. I don't know how they got this to be certified whatever that means. I compared to three other mercury thermometers and it was off by about 2 degrees.
