50 DB sounds a bit much. Can you select different gains?
there are no gain switches on the actual adapter but as far as I know you can purchase other adapters with different gains, 20 or 30 dbStephen

Going from xlr line out to PA with +4 boost. Will this even that out?
This PSC adapter is used to pad a line level output signal by 50 dB for compatibility with a mic level input. Mic level signal is much lower than line level signal. When the adapter is used, it lowers the line level output signal to prevent it from overloading the microphone input to avoid distortion/clipping and potential damage to the equipment you are connecting to.

question
Will be plugging a mixer with line level out into a PA system with mic level in that also has phantom power. Will it pass the phantom power up stream to the mixer or will it eliminate it? In the past phantom power back feeding into a mixer usually causes the mixer to blow up. So what happens with phantom power?
I did not have a problem with sending phantom power through this item. Works great for me.
