Is this the best choice for a photographic darkroom? I intend to make black and white prints in there.
Asked by: Rubens
This is just a filter. It needs a housing and light source as well. Also this for Blue-Sensitive X-ray Film & Green-Sensitive Medical X-ray Film which is unlikely for a beginner to be using in the darkroom The best answer as to what filter to have would be to look on the container that the photo paper is coming in for recommendations.

question

what type of bulb can be used?
Asked by: Anonymous
I'm using 1W (10 watt equivalent, 150 lumens, 3000K) LED bulbs for almost 5 years now and they've been fine - I've never fogged any X-ray film, even though at times I have 4 of these aimed directly at the film from no more than 2 feet away. I suspect the lack of heat from the bulb compared to incandescent will also make the filter last longer over time.
