The adapter ring that I received isn't the same one as what's pictured on the website. I've ordered this ring before and it was a higher quality. I don't know if there has been a design change from the manufacturer but this isn't a consistent product image.

If you like me recently got a B2 or B10 and cant properly use your SMDV Alpha modifiers anymore - this speedring adapter is what you need. The modifiers come with a standard size speed ring that works fine on the B1(X) but hits the battery on the B10 or the stand on the B2, and prevents those strobes to protrude into the softbox for normal power / operation. This speedring is low profile, so you can move it further - similar to what you can get pushing the Profoto OCF softbox to position #4. The quality seems to be good, but mine had some chrome polishing problems. Its made of steel, and slightly heavier than the SMDV Profoto adapter which is aluminum. The adapter base is 144mm just in case someone needs this particular size.

What is the outer diameter of the metal flange? Will it fit in a Bowens speed ring, which is roughly 140mm?

Yes. The cookie will fit as it is a standard size.

question

What is the diameter of the flange?
Asked by: Philip W.
David N. is correct. I recieved one today and it is 5 11/16 inches. Just a hair to big for my Paul C. Buff modifiers. I will have to grind it down.
