I got this specific tripod for its semi low minimum working height. I need to be able to mount my spotting scope with the eyepiece 5.5” to 6.00” above the ground. This way I can have my scope set up right next to me while I’m in the prone position while shooting my club F class matches, at 600 and 1000 yards 1/2 MOA XRings. 3” at 600 and 5” at 1000. After adding internally a 2.250” x 1/2” diameter piece of brass to each leg it is now stable enough with a low enough center of gravity to not tip over due to the weight of the scope. So far in training situations it’s working just as I’d planned.

Selfie tripod

I have used several small tripods with my Canon SX730. They are handy for selfies and for timed shots where I put the tripod on the roof of my car. The Slik design is somewhat bigger, but has all the features needed for my uses. The legs are sturdy, the ball head holds the camera in place and the extensions accommodate my applications. What's not to like?

question

I have a Nikon D750 along with the following lenses - Nikon 24-120mm F4, Nikon 70-300mm F4.5/5.6, Nikon 85mm F1.8G, Nikon 50mm 1.8G, and a Nikon 20mm F1.8. The prime lenses should be ok. Any problem using this tripod with the two zoom lenses?
Asked by: Michael
you may run into a problem with the wight of the lens tipping over the tripod, but by extending just one of the legs and positioning the lens directly on top of the outstretched leg, you should be fine.

question

I'll be taking a Nikon D750 along with the following lenses - Nikon 24-120mm F4, Nikon 70-300mm F4.5/5.6, Nikon 85mm F1.8, and a Nikon 20mm F1.8. I'm sure they'll be no issues with the primes. Any issues using this tripod with either of the zoom lenses?
Asked by: Michael
You may have problems with the zooms, as the Mini Pro III is only rated to hold up to 2.75 lbs.
