The O.C. White Heavy Duty Clamp Mount is designed to mount O.C. White Microphone Arms. The mount will clamp to the edge of many desks and tabletops 1.25" thick or more to provide a rigid, adjustable mounting fixture. A screw-down fitting secures the microphone arm in place. The Clamp Mount is an ideal solution for studios without sufficient space or for temporary installations.
Product is solid and I bet works well mounted on the back of a desk but I like a side mic mount as I have a big monitor (TV) and this product tends to wiggle loose over weeks of time so just watch and tighten it... the pad also had a tendency to rip off when this happens from the sheer force of moving the mic arm. It is entirely possible side mounting (on the side of my table) is not recommended but I've always been a fan of front/side table mounted mic arms so they are closer to me and less likely to need to reach over, under or otherwise risk occlusion of my monitor.
This works well with my OC White mic boom arm. The rubber pad needed to be re-glued (the sticky goo that was used originally was not sufficient to hold it in place), but the clamp itself is solid and should last for many years.
