Does not work with Panasonic remote

Bought the Vello RS-P1II Wired Remote Switch for Panasonic, which works great with my GH3. This cable is the correct plug size, but does not work. It doesnt carry the information over for some reason, plug size is correct at 2.5mm. They should include a more complete compatibility list with this product. It was also listed as an accessory for the Vello RS-P1II and obviously isnt.

If it's a lanc controller port? Yes, it should work. I'm using on two different Canon cameras and it works beautifully.
