The dPDB passive direct box from ART features two high-quality direct boxes in one portable enclosure. It is a roadworthy DI for connection of the outputs of electronic musical instruments (or other audio sources) to the balanced inputs of mixer consoles and other balanced inputs. It also allows for connection of a music source to an instrument amplifier while simultaneously patching it to a mixer.

The unit features switchable input attenuation, a 50k Ω instrument input, 50k Ω parallel link jack, a 600 Ω XLR output jack and a switchable ground lift. It excels at impedance matching and improving the sound of any instrument plugged into it. Enclosed in a rugged steel chassis, it is designed and manufactured to the highest standards to provide years of quiet, reliable performance.

Electric Guitar and Bass

The high impedance signal from a guitar or bass guitar pickup is translated by the unit into a low impedance balanced signal required by mixing consoles.

Keyboards and Line Level Signals

Automatically balances and matches the line level outputs of modern electronic keyboards. If using a multiple keyboard setup and the keyboards are all plugged into a single instrument amplifier, the dPDB can be used to replace individual direct boxes by simply sending the output of the instrument amplifier to the dPDB and then to the console.

DJ Console Output Signals

DJ mixers often supply only an unbalanced -10dB signal. The dPDB converts this signal to a balanced line level signal before it reaches the console, while providing a convenient method of connector transition with the capability to run long cables.

Speaker Level Signals

By accepting speaker level inputs from a power amplifier's output, the DI allows post-amplifier, post EQ and effects signals to be fed directly to the console. In this manner, a particular effect or amplifier sound can be sent directly to the mix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome DI at any price This is the fourth one of these that I have purchased in the last 4 or 5 years. What a great value!!!I have read so many reviews from those golden eared guys that write in the audio journals but I haven't seen any laboratory tests that prove to me that any one passive DI is truly different. So I believe price is a reasonable measure.A true dual path DI. I use it for acoustic-electric guitar, bass guitar, electronic drums in stereo, a stereo keyboard, DJ mixer, CD player, computer feed to pro mixer. It can even serve as a splitter (run the high imp thru into the high imp input on the other side, bingo, two balanced outs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not same as ART's single channel model I use it to connect my unbalanced computer audio output to my mixer's balanced input. I own the ART PDB single-channel direct box and like how it performs in my application. I'm most interested in ground loop elimination besides converting to a balanced signal. I assumed the dual channel model would be otherwise identical. Much to my dismay, the dual-channel model passes much more 60Hz hum in comparison. Oh well. This was the most inexpensive option available to me, and I simply lost out. Otherwise, it passes audio well enough for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DPDB DI Box by ART Worked Great Onstage I'm a bass player and switch between a Upright and Electric Bass during or gigs. And would get feed back from the Uprights piezo pickups. The two channels on the DPDB allows me to use the two thru bypass line outs to my A/B switch to send one line to my Amplifer and Two XLR sends to our PA Mixer. With a better quailty signal going to the Mixer we don't get the feed back. And it gives me a channel for each of my instruments in the mixer so we don't have to change the volume levels when I change from one instrument to the other.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Simple Black Box No moving parts, no power required, converts a line level signal to microphone level, which is what we needed to take advantage of a microphone jack in the wall of a large room. We can now tap into the house system with any input device. Simplicity itself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Addition to my utililty bag Picked up two keyboards' output out to the PA. No battery or phantom powering needed. One less source of feedback.
