Lowel Omni-Light Overview

As an entry into a large system, B&H has put together this Lowell Omni-Light Focus Flood with 500W Bulb Kit. Included ia an Omni Light with a 500W incandescent lamp. By changing the bulb, you can use the Omni up to 240V.

Lowel Omni-Light 500W Focus Flood Light (120-240 VAC / 12-30 VDC)

The wide focusing range of the Lowel Omni-Light makes it a flexible key or backlight. Add diffusion or an umbrella to use it as a soft fill source. Swap the power cord and lamp and it becomes a battery-powered, handheld light. Available with a host of accessories and built for a long life, the popular heavy-duty Omni is the perfect companion for the Tota.

When fitted with an FTK 500 watt bulb (available separately), this fixture will emit a beam of 75 footcandles at full flood and 475 footcandles at full spot from a distance of 10'. Other bulbs and plug adapters are available.

Reflector
Double parabolic peened reflector provides non-crossover beam for maximum efficiency and gel life.
Stay-Cool Handle
Allows the Omni-light to be easily adjusted, handheld, and folded for storage.
Focus Lever
Has a focus range of 6:1 with #1 reflector and FTK Lamp.
Multi-Wattage, Multi-Voltage
  • Uses 500, 420, and 300W at 120V
  • Other bulbs are available for 230 VAC, 240 VAC, and 12-30 VDC
Light Shapers Available
Barndoors, scrims, dichroic filters, snoots, gel frames, and flags are all available separately.

Hi, are there 220V lamps (instead of the 110V included one) that would work with this lights?

The fixture does not include a bulb.In the USA you can only use 110-120 volt bulbs.If you are planning on using this out of the country and that country is 220-230 volts you will need this bulb, Lowel GCY Lamp (500W/230V), B&H # LOLGCY MFR # GCYAnd you will need an adapter for the plug so it fits the outlet in that other country. Or you can get a different power cable but they make it for UK and Europe only.

I would recommend either the Ushio JCD Lamp (500W/240V) B&H # USJCD240500, for use with the Lowel Omni-Light 500 Watt Focus Flood Light (120-240VAC/12-30VDC).

I've always been curious, is it normal for fresh lighting kits such as these to produce smoke during the first 5 minutes of being turned on for the first time? I feel as though chemicals from the thin metal protective grill over the light bulb react to the light bulb's heat and produced the smoke as it stopped after 5 minutes or so. Thoughts?

They will do that when they are new but after a few uses it should stop. Make sure the bulb is not touching the grill. Also, never touch the bulb with your fingers. The oils on your hands can burn and destroy the bulb.
