Leica 14854 Overview

Leica has selected Billingham to supply a combination bag that is tailord to fit a typical Leica M system. A bag that accomodates two M bodies with lenses attached, or one M body with 3-4 lenses, plus a flash and some additional accessories.

This bag features a zipperless main compartment with excellent weatherproofing and quick access to your gear. The quick release studs hold down the top, which is gusseted on the sides for extra precipitation protection. There are interior front and back pockets and adjustable interior dividers.

Billingham is proud of their leather, used abundantly in all their bags. They buy the best top-grain leather hides, each with its' own unique markings and imperfections. A stylish bag that's not too bulky but big enough to carry a Leica M camera and some lenses. You probably carry a Leica SL fitted with one lens. Great price for a Leica branded product

pretty good

After so much research I bought this bag as a lightweight setup for my system. It is the perfect size for body with a lens mounted and one extra. In my images you can see the 55mm f1.8 mounted and 12-24 f4 on the side. The shape of the main compartment as well as front pocket work really well for me. I love that there are no Billingham patches/badges on the outside as well.

Great bag!

I wanted a bag that fit my equipment. I bought this in black and the extra leather shoulder pad too. The bag design and execution are up to the standards of the M system. It is very well made, very practically set up, perfectly fitted to the system, and as elegant and discreet as the gear it is made to carry. In black, carried off the shoulder to my side, the bag is is close to invisible. It has a small Billingham for Leica label inside under its top flap, and it comes in a silver Leica box with a Leica branded loading diagram. I am using the bag to hold the M with a lens mounted on it and two other lenses; one of the lenses is the big Nocti 0.95. The lenses' cases do not fit so the padding in the bag affords all the protection. To me, this seems adequate for all but the most rugged excursions, and Leica's loading diagram shows no additional protective cases. I also bought the optional leather shoulder pad - a pricy extra at $40.00. The bag comes with a shoulder pad on its strap. If I had shopped in person and had a chance to see both shoulder pads, I don't think I would have splurged for the leather one. The standard pad is very well made and quite substantial. Having said that, I am going to keep the leather pad; another indulgence in a hugely indulgent system.

I've been searching for the past couple of months for a replacement to my Billingham Leica M Combination bag, where my Leica M2, M8, and M9 (and soon M240) have all sat over the years. I've used Domke, Artisan & Artist, Fogg, and many other bags in the past, but I've always gone back to my Billingham Leica bag. Why? 1. Fits my M body and 3 lenses comfortable (50Noct, 35CronIV, 90Cron). I keep one lens on the camera and the other two tucked inside its Leica leather pouches, which also fit snugly into the compartments. 2. BLACK. The Billingham Leica bag is completely matte black. Stealth is everything in street photography and especially when you are using a Leica. Not only will it help to deter theft, but it will also deter attention from your subjects. 3. AVEA Leica M side pockets are detachable and are excellent for those extra accessories. I usually keep a couple pens, shutter release cable, and some cleaning cloths. It also has a larger zipped front pocket, where I can keep my battery, memory cards, and a note pad (I've even fit a Kindle Fire in it for long trips). The inner compartment also has a rear pocket, which is where I keep a few filters, cleaning cloths, and business cards for quick access. I keep a pretty light load, which is the whole point of owning an M system. So when I want to have just the bare minimum, then I unhook the AVEA pockets and it's just a tiny bag with a body and lenses. 4. The top of the inner compartments are also closed off by a cushion before the external cover is buckled on. I questioned the durability of the brass strap locks, but they have stand through the test of time and have never unlocked or release on their own. It might seem like a very insecure locking mechanism at first, but it is extremely safe and have extremely fast access to your camera and lenses, which is critical to get the shot sometimes. I've done photojournalistic, wedding, modeling, and travel photography completely with Leica cameras and this bag have always survived the abuse. 5. The shoulder strap is wide and comfortable but I also purchased a Billingham pad for it. The Leica camera's original strap is extremely painful to wear over long periods of time and the tiny rubber stubs can really irritate the skin on the back of your neck. I recommend the leather Leica strap, which is a great alternative to the stock strap that comes with your camera. The Billingham shoulder pad also has a rubber lining, so it will not slip when you are wearing it diagonally. Like I've mentioned before, I've owned and tried many bags in the past, but I've always gone back to my Billingham Leica M Combo bag in the end. I've used it for many years now and it still performs and looks great for its age. Hope this helps. Tuananh

Perfect size, looks, and great build. Inner compartment holds my two M bodies, each with a lens attached. Outside zippered compartment has plenty of room for cards, charger and chord, filters, etc. Shoulder pad makes it comfortable to lug around all day.

Hello, How waterproof is this bag?thanksron hall
Asked by: Anonymous
It is very weatherproof. The canvas is a high quality tightly woven and wax coated type. It can withstand the elements but is not waterproof per se (waterproof indicates items that can be fully sumbmersed underwater without issue).

I own a Fujifilm x-e2 with a 18-55 lens, later certainly one or two other lens and a flashlight, and I want to buy a Billingham bag. I hesitate between the Hadley small, L2, f2.8 and Hadley pro. Who can help me finding the best model (not too big, not too wide, with possibly additional pockets)?
Asked by: Anonymous
I have both, the Hadley small and the Combination bag. I get two Leica Ms - one with lens mounted and the other without, PLUS and extra small lens in the front pocket of the Hadley small.Hope that helps.
