  • 1Description

The dbx iEQ-31 is a dual channel, 31 band graphic equalizer that offers state-of-the-art digital EQ performance and specifications with an analog look and feel. Besides including two 31-band channels of 1/3-octave equalization, the unit also offers +12 dB input gain range, switchable +6 or +15dB boost/cut range and 40mm faders with nonconductive nylon sliders.

The iEQ-31 also offers the AFS (Advanced Feedback Suppression) feedback elimination module. The AFS uses Precision Frequency Detection and state-of-the-art processing to determine the exact portions of a given frequency that is causing feedback without removing approximately half of the signal power, as is the case with the traditional method of moving the offending frequency's slider.

Additionally, the unit offers dbx Type V noise reduction and PeakStopPlus limiting for taming unwanted peaks. XLR, 1/4" and Euroblock inputs and outputs and an intuitive user interface with comprehensive output and gain reduction metering round out this professional EQ that is perfect for touring applications or in installed sound venues.

    iE-Q31 EQ/Limiter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Live and well with new iE-Q31 When the iEQ-31 showed up we unpacked and installed it immediately into the rack replacing an aging DN360. While being installed in a small room of about 3000 sq ft. the space is used for everything from artist/label showcases to corporate events with the level of clientele coming from both ends of the spectrum corporate novice to pro audio engineer. Within minutes the iEQ-31 was mounted and dialed in as the quick responsiveness of the sliders made it easy to find the optimum level for each frequency band. After setting the limiter we went immediately into rehearsals for a showcase for an artist being backed by the band for one of country's top artist. Their sound man asked about the possibility of a couple of tweaks and they happened quick and with ease. During rehearsal and the following performance the band got a little boisterous and the limiter had to take a little of the top a few times and being the only compression or limiting before the speaker processor it worked perfect with no distortion or clipping of the signal being evident. The next day we went into a 3 day conference with nine handheld and two lapel wireless microphones in a pass-around session. While usually fairly stable the sound system became a little squeally with eleven mics running all over the room without a healthy set of lungs pushing any of the them it was a sea of gain with choppy waters to say the least. I punched in the AFS button and it was like incredible after about ninety seconds there was not a bit of feedback and all the mics could be heard clearly with no perceptible shift in the system eq and it stayed that way for the whole event. Needless to say I am very pleased with the way this unit works this is the first iEQ-31 I have recommended and installed and I am sure it will not be the last
