ART Phantom II Pro Reviews
Great "Problem Solver"
Very happy with the ART Phantom II Pro. Based on my tests it adds only about 0.5dB of noise and provides absolutely hours of phantom power to a typical pair of small or large diaphram condensor mics with a single 9v battery. The phantom power provided from a 9v battery isn't quite completely in-spec, which is sufficient for 90% of condenser mics but may be a problem for vintage or particularly voltage-hungry mics.
gets the job done
It works fine and seems to have at least 12 hours battery life providing 48v phantom power though both ports. As other reviewers have said the battery just floats around and is difficult to fish out unless you hold it upside down and shake it. The adapter is a bit bulky and doesn't have any tripod or mic stand threading--would be nice it there was an easier way to mount it to a rig. I ended up using industrial-strength velcro. It does NOT come with an AC adapter and I wasn't able to find an OEM adapter for sale. But B&H does sell a third party adapter from Hosa Technology that has worked fine thus far.
Good Product
We needed to power a microphone for video surveillance. This works great. Even though it is listed as a battery powered unit there is an input so the unit can be powered by an electrical adapter. However, there is no description or link to purchase the electrical adapter. Emails to the manufacturer went unanswered. Thanks to B&H for suggesting an adapter for it.
Works great
This produce was purchased to go between a microphone and a speaker. The two were not working: lots of feedback, difficult sound volume. But after purchasing the phantom II pro, the speaker system works great.
does what you need
goodphanthom power supply to power my external mic for my Canon 60D. I found this and the price was within my budget. I received it within a week. I like how small it is and it does power my unit but had to get a extra plug from cam to unit the an adapter to make it a female connection. wish it all came together as a package. the connection to the 9volt is flimsy and you have to be careful with it. the battery shakes inside the unit. doesnt have anywhere to clip it to. had to create a special bag for it. other than that does what you need it to do.
Great for on location interviews!!!
Just getting started to use this and so far the testing is great. Looking forward to do audio work without having to plug in all the time.
Works great
Used this to power a boundary microphone when the pro camcorder with phantom power was replaced with a consumer camcorder without phantom power. Just plugged it in and it worked. We'll see how long it lasts.
Awesome Phantom Power
I produce commercial marketing videos and the Art Phantom II Pro came highly recommended and the other reviews helped support the recommendation bought no questions asked and already used it for a wedding shoot and a corp training video using Rode NTG1 and AudioTechnica lapel mics the ART Phantom II worked great!
