Kodak Tri-X 400 35mm Reviews

One of the best films around

Kodak knew that by keeping these in style, they would get a huge comeback in film making but wow, these just blew me away with the quality and craftsmanship after finishing up development on my work. They came out great, they're easy enough for students like myself to use and they're just one of the best films out there. I'd even recommend the Ilford 400 variant as well, super quality stuff. 10/10!!

Always great

I only shoot Tri-x these days. I played around with many other films but always came back to Tri-x. The latitude is terrific. It gives you detail in both shadows and highlights. I can bump up or take down the contrast in the darkroom. It's just a wonderfully friendly little roll of film that produces beautiful images!

I love the tones and contrast of this film so much. I recently shot a roll next to a roll of the Ilford delta 400 and saw better results in every shot.

glad to find my fav BW film again

Started shooting with Tri-X on a medium format Yashica and a Canon FT-QL 35mm back in 1970 and learned quickly to totally love this film stock... had trouble locating rolls for years, gave up and then recently found it at B&W... Love it....

Great B&W film, great detail in the highlights and the shadows, but if you like contrast, TMAX is a bit better, yet depending on how you shoot and develop this film, it can have deep contrast as well.

Love kodak tri x 400 !!!

question

Do you ship the film internationally? I'm concerned if the film goes through the x-ray machines during security checks and it will damage it
Asked by: Anonymous
We do ship film internationally and we recommend using UPS as the carrier. They have mentioned to us that their x-ray machines would not have any effect on the film.

when do they expire?
Asked by: Anonymous
Ordered end of November 2019, received a week later a package that says to process before December 2019. It’s short dated or expired stock right now. Really underwhelmed as I needed it for a project this weekend.

question

Isnt this meat for saving some money by buying in bulk ? If a 100 feet make s about 19 rolls of 36 exposure, and costs this much, then its cheaper just to get the single rolls for 4.95. What s the point then?
Asked by: Xiao Y.
So you can make any size you want. Also for cameras that have large bulk film backs or specialized cassettes. Volume of these long rolls is very low.
