Microphone Shock Mount is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a suspension mount in my view I bought this as it was strongly recommended at DVXuser.com for use with the Oktava microphones, in conjunction with a Rycote Baby Ball Gag. I have had one of these for about 3 years, and I must admit, it is very well made, from aluminium, and it is very slick feeling. The problem is, and it took me a while to accept it, is that even with the softer bands it is very poor at reducing handling noise indeed. The bands are just too dense by far. I use a Rycote INV-7 system now, and it is so much better at the main job of a suspension mount - it isolates handling noise beautifully. The K-Tek is going up for auction now. I tried to like it, but in the end I won't miss it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it is supposed to do. I got some shock mounts that came with expensive microphones, but the type of crossed rubber bands used made for a quite flimsy setup. This K-Tek mount is tight enough to hold a shotgun, but still flexible enough to absorb vibrations. The possibility to adjust and lock the direction the mike is pointing to is also a plus. Well made and giving a feeling of durability. With a cold shoe adapter I mounted my mike in front center of my camera, so the shotgun picks up the sound coming from where my lens is pointed at, and away from any noise coming from normal camera operation. With a quick rleease adapter it is easily removed to be fixed to a boom pole, and again adjust the angle to suit the needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid design for the pricing Very sturdy design with an ability to withstand the weight of some of the longer/heavier microphones I placed in it. The lock has a unique pivot which I'm not really worried will break off or wear out any time soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds expectations About 2 years ago, I bought a mic kit that included a shock mount, I wasn't really happy with it. So I eventually got around to buying a new shock mount, which is the one I'm reviewing. I was extremely happy with this new shock mount, it just feels better and more well-designed than the one I had before.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Handle Break Purchased for student use in a university Journalism department. Handle that tightens and loosens mount for use at different angles broke off and so the knob cannot be tightened or loosened without a pliers. The mic can still be positioned based on friction, but the knob is essentially useless. I'd recommend a mount with a smaller knob that's less prone to breaking off.
