This mount was recommended to me by an audio guy I trust. It’s perfect for location audio especially in a traveling set up. Reduces vibrations, I can point the mic at what I want to hear and it’s light weight and easy to use. The mic feels solid on my boom pole, not like it might get knocked off.

I bought this as it was strongly recommended at DVXuser.com for use with the Oktava microphones, in conjunction with a Rycote Baby Ball Gag. I have had one of these for about 3 years, and I must admit, it is very well made, from aluminium, and it is very slick feeling. The problem is, and it took me a while to accept it, is that even with the softer bands it is very poor at reducing handling noise indeed. The bands are just too dense by far. I use a Rycote INV-7 system now, and it is so much better at the main job of a suspension mount - it isolates handling noise beautifully. The K-Tek is going up for auction now. I tried to like it, but in the end I won't miss it.
