Can't Repair Mic

I have been using Earthworks SR77s TC30s and Sr30s since approx. 2000. Many great characteristics about the mics.....Except I have more than a few that will Pop very loud if any static electricity such as a drummers sticks or especially brushes come close to the mic! Nothing can be done about it and you are out of luck....approx. $600. dollars worth of luck! Also since I personally own 12 of their mics I have a couple that now have a buzz! I want to send them in for repair...NO WAY!!!! Earthworks has a 10 year warranty, and the mics are made in such a way (everything is glued inside!!) that they can't be repaired!!!! I contacted Earthworks recently, they checked the serial number and told me that they could probably get me a (Small) discount on a new one....that is highway robbery! I won't EVER spend another cent on Earthworks mics!! There are other mics that will do the job just fine. I spent the last 20 plus years telling and showing people how good those mics are. I used to rent them to various A/V companies until they wound up buying their own Earthworks mics. But unlike Shure or any other mic company THEY CAN'T BE REPAIRED!!!! So GOOD LUCK!!
