I haven't had a chance to put the eyepiece to a rigorous test. However, my early experience shows it does not fog as easily as did the eyepiece that came with the camera. I'm left-eye dominant, which means my nose is always getting near the eyepiece. On a cold day it can be frustrating. For about $20, which a pittance compared to the cost of the camera and lens, the problem is solved.

You know what happens, shooting with a mask covering your nose and mouth..... This stops all that fogging..... It works. Well worth it.

Can this be used in conjunction with the Hoodman ...

Can this be used in conjunction with the Hoodman Hoodeye eye cup?

When adding a Hoodman Eyecup for Nikon cameras with a round eyepiece, the original eyepiece would need to be removed in order to use the Eyecup. That being said, the DK-17A could not work with together the Hoodman Eyecup.

According to the Nikon website, it is in fact compatible with most of their digital DSRLs and with some viewfinders in their SRL line. Haven't verified it myself.
