White Balance Card is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 144.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from White balancing in the trenches We use this white balancing card for event video productions and digital photography. It is very sturdy and can handle all the abuse it goes through. The size of the card and string attached makes it very portable. It is made of plastic so you do not have to worry about damaging it. I have used it to white balance in the rain and could easily wipe it clean. It has been dropped on more than one occasion and has held up well. I carry it around as I'm shooting in situations where the ambient light is constantly changing. When the sun is setting and the hall lights are coming on is one example. This card is great of you need a proper white balance on the run or in not so favorable conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST TO HAVE TO GET PERFECT COLOR Using auto white balance is easy but sometimes especially in a dark setting it gets too yellowish. Since I discover the importance of white balance, I became faithful using it all the time. If Im outside and if its sunny I use the Direct Sunlight, If I use the flash then I use the flash white balance as well. Sometimes you may be trapped in a situation that you are in a mixed source of light. Perfect example is when you are in your room, there is light coming from your ceiling, light coming from the window and light coming from different reflections. There will be no preset to shoot and get an accurate color on this situation. This will be a good time to use this white balance card. Let me explain how to use this white card. If you have Canon 20D, 30D 40D or 50D, all you have to do is take a picture of this card, oooopps if you are a beginner you might find a hard time focusing it, since its a plain white you have to set your white balance to Manual focus, switch it on your lens. Set white balance first to AWB. Make sure you are shooting this card on the same place you will do shooting with your subject preferably the exact angle and exact place. Also make sure that the whole frame shows only the white card, try to avoid reflections because your sensor will read that color and will give you a wrong white balance. After shooting the card, go to menu and look for the custom white balance setting, then locate the file and save it as your custom white balance. Remember to change your white balance to custom. Now try shooting. You will see the difference!!!! If you use flash, you will still have to change your white balance to flash. For nikon users just go to PRE and shoot this card. Then you are good to go. If you want to be more serious you can also get an EXPODISC but as a beginner on the white balance business, this is a must. Cheap but very helpful. Make sure to keep it clean. I always put mine in plastic bag. Good luck

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy at times I use this for video production. For the money, this was worth it. In some ways, a sheet (or a couple of sheets of white paper stapled together for more thickness) are better than this--since 8 1/2 X 11 sheets are bigger and allow you to fill more of the frame for a white balance. But if you just rely on paper, you may find it bent and tattered when you need it. So I find this to be a good backup to have in your camera case. Its durability makes it more reliable than white paper. But if the lit area is further from the camera, I find this to be too small to fill the frame when white balancing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable white Sometimes a white sheet of paper is kind of yellow, or kind of blue. White has some variations on a theme, but with the Porta Brace white balance card, same white every time, so you'll know how your camera will read the white. Consistency of color throughout different set ups. Don't leave home without it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A white flimsy plastic card There's not much to say about it other than I expected more. It's an inexpensive plastic white balance card, but it's nearly translucent enough for color to bleed through depending on the environment. Look elsewhere if you demand quality. However, it works in a pinch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new and easy way to white balance I was tired of white balancing my DSLR with ordinary blank paper sheet until I found this amazing white balance card. Use with my DSLR and Sony AVCHD camcorder to white balance in any situation. Excellent size and, weight (almost nothing) and quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Let there be white This is a 6x9 plastic white card. It is big enough that you can zoom and fill the frame without getting close and risking shadows on the card. It is amazing that sometimes the cameras metering system is quite a bit off, so you have to spend post production time fixing the color balance. For indoor shooting I find it particularly useful and it generates a accurate color balance. The card about a 10 lanyard that some may find useful.
