I've tried all the other fancy shotgun shock mounts, went back to this and will never look back. Packs well, and a visit to any hardware store will get you inexpensive o-rings to replace those bands. My only complaint was that the model that arrived had blue bands instead of the signature orange bands. The horror! (kidding)

Professional's Choice

This is one of the most widely used shock mounts by professional sound mixers in the film and video industry. Its light weight makes it a favorite for boom operators. The flexibility of the mount gives it superior isolation from handling noise. It is ideal for light weight microphones with a foam windscreen, A K6/ME66 will work fine although at 12.5 it is probably the longest usable mic. The rubber rings are very durable when used properly. Professional users double-twist them before inserting the microphone. Without that double-twist it is a bit loosey goosey. It is not suitable for a long shotgun (there is a large model for that) or use with a heavy outdoor windscreen. In that case a stiffer mount (with less noise isolation) is necessary.
