I was looking for a boom arm camp for extended boom for my product photography. The Manfrotto fit the bill. All metal clamp that is very secure. Once tightened I had no drift or drop the the fixture at the end of the boom. Great product that does exactly what it is advertised to do.

What's the diff between this and a standard grip?
This grip or knuckle is used to attach to a stand or bar and then you can attach another arm or boom, etc... and also allows for angling of the attached arm.

Are the handles plastic (like the original version) or are they now aluminum? Mine snapped and looking for a more high-quality replacement.
The handles on mine appear to be cast aluminum. The same handles are on several boom gadgets I have and they have worked well for me.
