This product is a game changer in an environment where speed is critical. No cross-threading of components, which is a common issue, and is very snug when put together. No wiggling or rocking whatsoever. 100% satisfied!

May be difficult to get base to thread

The quick release works excellently. I actually use it for my on stage performance rather than just for easy storage. The problem I had was getting it to thread into the base. They used way too much black paint so I had to sand it off and use a pipe wrench to get it in. If yours is that tight plan on it being a permanent fixture.

I have read the two reviews of this item. It appears they the threading is of a very close tolerance. As far as I'm concerned that is a good attribute. My question concerns the locking mechanism itself; i.e., part A tolerance to part B. If you have already bought this and have had it in service for some while, I'm asking if the joint is solid and without any free play of tolerance. Yes, I have an Atlas MS20C. It would be much nicer to have a quick connect between the shaft and base because as we all know, it is typical to separate the two pieces during transport. Also, I'm know from experience that hasty and often assembly / disassembly of the base from the shaft invites the risk of stripping threads. On paper, this device looks very useful and I would definitely buy it if I only knew that it has a very solid fit between the halves with no wobble at all. Thank you very much.

Atlas as you well know makes excellent products. I cannot guarantee the QR-2 will not have some play to it. As the connection is not a thread its ball bearing.
