The Cavision MBF3 French Flag is a flag for the MB385P/M 3x3 Matte Box; it can be positioned to cover the matte box or at various angles depending on the user's application.
This flag is only compatible with the MB385P/M matte box and LH100P/M lens hood, as both the matte box and lens hood have the same rubber shade where the MBF-3 is attached.

For the 3x3 Matte box from Cavision just great, but Hard to get, I waited a whole year to purchase one. ....Now I got it. I wanted two, at least I get One.But two would be much better.Maybe next Time.
I bought this with the Cavision RS816 rods system, RPSHC spacer, and MB385P matte box for my Sony HVR-A1U camera. The quality of all four Cavision items is very high. The flap clamps onto the matte box and has two adjustable screws. Mine was a little noisy (squeaks), needed to be lubricated, especially since it sits so close to the on-board mic. The placement of the mic (onboard shoe) does interfere with the flap somewhat, but there is a sweet spot where the flap can be lowered without impeding the mic and is still not visible in frame. The flag can also be lowered completely to protect the lens and filters.
